Cake Pop Tutorial

First you bake the cake. You can do whatever flavor you want to.
Then you need to crumble the cake very finely so there are not big chunks.



Then you mix 1 cup of frosting to one 9x13 cake.


Roll the dough type mixture into 1 inch round balls and put them in the freezer for a short time to become more firm for dipping. Be sure not to leave your cake balls in the freezer until they're frozen because the candy melt will crack when they are dipped.

Make sure you have any and all decorations ready to go for after your pops are dipped.


I like to use a double boiler system to ensure that they candy melts don't burn. However if you choose to use the microwave to melt your candy melts set the power level down to prevent burning.

Once the melts are completely melted you are ready to dip. If the melts are too thick you can add a little bit of olive oil to help it thin out, which doesn't change the taste at all.

First you're going to want to dip the stick into the candy melts and then into your cake ball. Let that become firm and then dip the cake ball into the candy melts.

Make sure that you cover all the area of the cake ball and then tap the stick on the edge of the bowl to get the excess off.

Put the wet dipped cake pop in either a Styrofoam block or a stand of some sort to let the dry.
You can either add the decorations while the cake pop is still wet or after by using a little dot of candy melt and applying the decorations using some tweezers.
